Historical attractions of the Berlin Wall were left in the city of Berlin, Germany threatened eviction luxury apartment project. Historians, tourists and artists protested loudly.

East Side Gallery is the remaining piece of the Berlin Wall along the 1.3 km in the former east Berlin. Gallery called because the walls are decorated with murals, including the famous mural pictures the former leader of the Soviet Union and East Germany, Leonid Brezhnev and Eric Honecker, kissing.

However, a tourist attraction visited by 800,000 travelers each year is threatened with eviction from a luxury apartment project owned by Living Bauhaus. While this plan sounds traveler ears, they are very regret.

"If Berlin is not careful, he's going to lose this beautiful building," said Coco Garcia Lopez (21) tourists from Madrid.

The nightclub owners around the East Side Gallery is also concerned eviction will make lazy travelers coming to the region. "If built luxury apartments, it's like building a gas station in front of the museum," said Sascha Disselkamp, nightclub manager Sage.

But there is nothing more sad than Kani Alavi, one of the artists who painted the mural on the Berlin Wall and led the renovation of the Berlin Wall four years ago. Apartment building plans will destroy the history and culture that are stored on this wall.

"All the mural paintings of the Berlin Wall was a symbol of freedom in Berlin and Europe. If destroyed, you're ruining the authenticity of this place," Alavi said.

So, what did the Berlin city government? Franz Schulz representing the Berlin city government said the Berlin Wall would be moved. The investor has the legal right not only to build apartments, but also to build a bike and pedestrian paths.

It remains unclear how many meters of 1.3 km that remains of the Berlin Wall which will be subject evicted. But for tourists, it still is a sad news.
