A hotel called The Thief established in an area formerly known as a hotbed of criminal. Hotels in Tjuvholmen, Norway also has a room dedicated to former criminals!

Hotel The Thief stands prominently on the waterfront, Tjuvholmen district, Norway. First, precisely in the 18th century, the city was known as a place of execution of high profile criminals.

Over time, the district is turning into the center of art and architecture in Oslo. With the aim of do not want to forget the old story of the city, a luxury boutique hotel was established with the very name synonymous with past district is The Thief.


The meaning Criminals Thief is scheduled to be opened on January 9, 2013. The 120-room hotel is very far from being creepy and dangerous style of high profile criminals. In fact, the hotel decor is very thick with art. Director of the Norwegian National Museum named Sune Nordgen also contributed art in making this hotel.


Sune selecting the works that will be placed in each room. These works are borrowed from the Astrup Fearnley museum of contemporary art that have approved the deal.


In addition to a focus on art-laden decor, the hotel is also concerned with the ex-criminals who want to open a new life. They make a project that is a fundraiser for former inmates who want to re-socialize with the general public.


This project has a unique enough name that ROM 13. Yet it is clear what it was 13 but the ROM project they chose the number 13 with the intent and purpose. The area has a bad past but managed to get up into something more beautiful. Likewise with bad numbers, is expected to bring something beautiful.
